Stupid policy of the week

Proof that stupidity reaches all corners of the political spectrum.

The Democratic Policy Committee is considering proposing legislation, known as the Travel Promotion Act of 2009. (Read the brief here.) The TPA is supposed to help recover the waning numbers of tourist that have stopped coming to the US since 2001 (and their money). This new organization would be responsible for marketing the US abroad, promoting travel and explaining the stupid security regulations put in place.

Oh great, how are they going to fund this new organization, you ask? By charging each foreign tourist a $10 fee. That's right. Attract tourism by charging them even more money. Fantastic idea.

If you want to get these foreign tourists and their money back in the States....why don't you stop turning us into Fortress America? Fingerprinting? Excessive landing cards? ESTA authorization 72 hours prior to departure? Its not that the world doesn't want to come to the US because the cities aren't nice or they don't feel safe inside the country, its because the United States government has turned them (and the citizenry) into criminals. And nobody wants to visit a country where they feel and are treated like criminals.

Oh, if it weren’t for 9-11! I am referring to the sad day of Sept 11, 2001 where approximately 3,000 human beings were brutally murdered by Saudi terrorists as they brought down the twin towers in New York City. Two airplanes were the method of destruction. In addition, the Pentagon was brutally attacked by a hijacked airplane killing several hundred more citizens. Then, the final blow came in Southwestern, PA when a hijacked plane killed almost 100 more citizens by crashing into an open field. Fortunately, that hijacking was basically thwarted because its destination was the White House.
What is wrong with this picture? The United States is hated by many countries of this world and would do anything to cause us harm. But now, many of these foreigners are having a difficult entering our great country because the US has finally done something to tighten the borders and entry regulations for getting into the US. This was long overdue but it took this bolt of devastating killer lightening to get our government’s attention. We had to stop the flow of these dangerous people to keep them out of our country. There is still a breech in Mexico and Texas where these people can get in. Our government is afraid to do anything to stop this flow of illegals. The Republicans in 2006 elections but got thrashed by the Mexicans who live here illegally. The left in this country is gutless in this country when it comes to these security issues. They realize that the illegals are going to turn into Democratic voters in the future.

There are those that actually believe that these attacks on our population, buildings, and government facilities were figments of imagination. For example, Hillary Clinton said that George Bush knew. What did Bush know? I think if he had known, he would have taken serious action to prevent the events. What hogwash!

“Did it sorta look like those buildings came down in a controlled demolition?” Charlie Sheen in 2006

“Don’t ask me to tell you what happened on 9/11. All I know is that the official account of the buildings’ collapse is improbable.” Paul Craig Roberts, “Gullible Americans,” August 14, 2006

Rosie O’Donnell, claimed that 9/11 was the first time in history that fire has melted steel, and that “we don’t know that it imploded,” and that it “it was an implosion and demolition.”

“It seems to me like 19 amateurs with box cutters taking over four commercial airliners and hitting 75% of their targets, that feels like a conspiracy theory. It raises a lot of questions.”

These deep leftist that live and are employed and heard on TV do not sound like they like America. What about the part of the world that really has tried to kill us. Close the gates and keep our guard up to keep them out.

To the best of my knowledge tourism is not suffering in any way because of the $10.00 that is being recommended by the Democratic Policy Committee when the tourists enter the country. Remember, these people are coming to America and must adhere to our laws. We cannot just open the gates and say, “Come on in and enjoy America” without some security built into tourism.

Read all of these terrorist incidents at the beginning of this missive and see what kind of destruction has been dumped on Americans in foreign countries and on home turf. They can do that over there, but not here. I hope our laws remain strict making is virtually for terrorists to get into our country.
